James Taylor, Chief Executive Officer and President

Mr. Taylor co-founded ELMS in August 2020 and has served as ELMS’ Chief Executive Officer since its inception. Prior to co-founding ELMS, Mr. Taylor served as Chief Executive Officer of SERES from May 2019 until August 2020. Prior to SERES, Mr. Taylor served as Chief Sales and Marketing Officer of Karma Automotive, LLC, a luxury electric car manufacturer, from April 2014 until December 2018. Prior to Karma Automotive, LLC, Mr. Taylor served as Chief Executive Officer of AMP Electric Vehicles, Inc. that acquired Workhorse Group Incorporated from March 2010 until September 2016. Prior to Workhouse Group Incorporated, Mr. Taylor served in positions of increasing responsibility at Dura Automotive Systems, LLC and General Motors Company (including with General Motors’ brands the Hummer and Cadillac).

Robert Song, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer

Mr. Song was appointed Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, effective November 2021. Previously, Mr. Song served as ELMS’ Deputy Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, succeeding Albert Li. Mr. Song joined ELMS as Vice President of Finance and Controller in April 2021. Before joining ELMS, Mr. Song served as Chief Investment Officer of CorePoint Lodging Inc., a publicly traded real estate investment trust, whose largest shareholder is Blackstone Inc. Prior to that, he was involved in the planning and execution of capital markets activities for Alphabet, Inc. Mr. Song also spent eight years at Morgan Stanley in New York and Sydney, serving as Vice President of Investment Banking. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Actuarial Science and a Master of Finance from Macquarie University in Australia.

Jonathan Ballon, Chief Strategy and Digital Officer

Mr. Ballon joined ELMS in June 2021. Mr. Ballon brings more than 25 years of experience driving transformation at global technology companies. He was most recently Vice President & General Manager of Intel’s Internet of Things Group, where he pioneered AI and deep learning hardware and software solutions and oversaw a global, multi-billion-dollar P&L. Earlier, Mr. Ballon was Co-Founder, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Strategy Officer of GE Digital, GE’s global software and analytics group. At GE, he launched the company’s first cloud-based software and infrastructure platform, Predix, and scaled the organization to support GE’s multi-billion-dollar software & services business. He previously spent more than a decade at Cisco Systems, ultimately serving as Corporate Vice President leading the Office of Strategy and Planning across the fastest growth areas of the business.
